Photojournalists Note by Manya Srivastava and Tanisha Jhaveri
There’s the past, that’s gone, and the future that’s yet to come. Both we have no control over. We can either choose to focus on what’s done or what is yet to come. In this edition of the Casual Observer, the photographers focused on this theme of looking forward and focusing on what is to come. Taking photos for this edition forced us to tune our way of thought. Our journey began as we attempted to decide on how we will capture photographs during the circuit breaker period. We looked through existing photographs and were always in search of the perfect moments that we could capture just through our mobile phones while on occasional walks.
Life is curated with beautiful moments that are capable of reflecting what we are feeling through the breeze, the rays of the sun, the ripples in the lake, the waves in the ocean, the moonlight on the sidewalks and so much more. In this edition, the photographers, as well as the photojournalism team, attempted to capture those reflections of human feelings in nature in regards to our theme of looking forward. We hope that each moment captured bears the ability to make you feel a certain way whether it’s tranquillity, joy, fear or even confidence because at the end of the day our emotions are what make life worth living till the end.
